Up in the DoubleH mountains in Nevada's northwestern corner, the surveyor is struck first by the spectacular views, second by the sheer numbers of Horned Larks.  Nearby cliffs and outcrops lead to sightings of White-throated Swifts, kestrels, and Chukar.  This transect was burned in 2000 and subsequently re-seeded.
