Pinyon Jay Field Technician

GBBO is seeking qualified avian field technicians to conduct Pinyon Jay surveys at multiple study sites in northern Arizona. Primary duties will include surveying plots for Pinyon Jay presence/absence and documenting behavior using ESRI field maps. We will also be conducting nesting and colony surveys in select locations. Outreach Biologist Intern

The Outreach Biology Intern will assist in furthering Great Basin Bird Observatory’s mission by bridging the gap between avian research and community outreach. This multi-faceted internship will emphasize hands-on experience in conservation outreach, with opportunities to develop skills in community engagement, education, and the implementation of effective fundraising campaigns. Additionally, this intern will work closely with various GBBO staff members and gain knowledge of avian conservation concerns and research techniques in the western U.S. This position is a pathway to careers in wildlife research, conservation education, and applied ecology.
