Earbirding with Ned Bohman

  • Tahoe Meadows IVGID, NV, 89451 United States (map)

GBBO’s Outreach Biologist, Ned Bohman, will lead participants on this walk at Tahoe Meadows. At this point in the year, juveniles of many species are forming large flocks and dispersing from nest sites, early migrants like Rufous Hummingbird are on the move, and others are preparing for their journeys.

We are entering the time of year when begging calls and simple call notes are the more common sounds our birds are making. We can still hear some bird song, but the morning chorus will be much less impressive than in May and June. Expect to hear and learn about begging calls, contact calls, alarm calls, and others.

This trip is full, thanks for your interest. If you are interested in future outings send an email to: outreach@gbbo.org. This trip will meet at the South end of the meadows, at the Incline Lake/Third Creek Trailhead, on the west side of the highway.
