Dr. Fogarty has conducted a substantial amount of research on birds in the Great Basin. He is currently an Assistant Professor at California State Polytechnic University at Humboldt. Dr. Fogarty will talk about riparian areas around creeks, seeps, and snow pockets that cover just a small fraction of the Great Basin's mountains yet are a key resource for much of its avian diversity. He will discuss his work on these systems, including how changes due to climate change and human activity potentially affect their bird communities.
