Bird Phenology Walk with Ned Bohman

  • Wilbur D May arboretum 555 Putnam Dr Reno, NV, 89503 United States (map)

GBBO’s Outreach Biologist, Ned Bohman, will lead participants on this walk at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park. We will meet the Wilbur D. May Arboretum parking area, see link below. This walk will emphasize the science of the birds we are seeing. With each species we see, Ned will emphasize the question: why are the birds doing what they are doing right now? The walk will be on level ground with well-maintained trails. We will walk through the arboretum and native plant gardens, make our way down the hill and across Evan’s Creek to Herman’s Pond. Depending how long it takes us to get here, we can loop back or continue north along the wetlands and even under the McCarran Ave underpass to the Evan’s Creek trail, if we wanted. The itinerary depends on the birds, we will move slowly and observe everything we can.

There are limited spaces available, so reserve yours today! Please RSVP to outreach@gbbo.org. We will meet at the Wilbur D. May Arboretum parking area in Rancho San Rafael Regional Park.
