Presentation for Bristlecone Audubon: Nevada's birds, from Mt. Charleston to Ruby Dome

  • Nevada Department of Wildlife 60 youth center road elko, nv (map)

Ned’s presentation will cover bird species that breed in different areas of the state, as well as notable records and patterns in unusual bird sightings. Did you know Nevada has recorded more woodpecker species than any other state?! Or that there are only 4 land locked states that have recorded more bird species?

Ned Bohman is the secretary of the Nevada Bird Records Committee and the Outreach Coordinator for the Great Basin Bird Observatory. He is based out of Reno, NV and has been conducting bird surveys in NV since 2015. Some of this work has included songbird area search and point count surveys on the Las Vegas Wash, the Truckee River, Ruby Mountains, Jarbidge Mountains, Toiyabes, Carson Range, Spring Mountains, and many more valleys and ranges across NV.

This event is free and open to the public. If you are interested in attending contact outreach@gbbo.org. You are also welcome to simply show up at the Elko NDOW office.
