Ned Bohman will lead birders on this walk at Crystal Peak Park. This area features a few different habitats, including water sources and riparian vegetation. The transitional Ponderosa and Jeffrey Pine woodland meet the Truckee River, and many montane species of bird can be found here, even in the summer. This is great wintering habitat for sparrows, finches, and montane species wintering at lower elevations. During this walk Ned will highlight bird behavior and emphasize why birds are here, right now! Wow!
Please RSVP to Outreach@gbbo.org if you are interested in attending.
